Dear Sir / Madam,
We are pleased to submit this request for your kind review. Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), in close collaboration with the School of Travel Industry Management (TIM), University of Hawaii, Manoa is organizing an International Learning Event on Strategic Management and Planning of Tourism Destinations (16 - 20 June, 2008). This training activity will be organized at AIT Conference Center, Bangkok, Thailand.
This international short course is intended for tourism planners, tourism site managers (public/private), mid-level management staff of public tourism organizations, lecturers and instructors of academic institutions, researcher and consultant of research institutions and consultancy organizations, NGO’s involved in tourism development projects. The course is designed to provide participants with an overview of the destinations to achieve their full potential while meeting a range of economic, environment and social objectives. The course is directed by Professor Walter Jamieson. Professor Jamieson serves as a Dean at (TIM) and has experience for more than three decades of academic as well as consultancy activities. He has provided consultancy to World Tourism Organization, ESCAP and UNESCO and has been a team leader on a number of projects in Asia. He has published over 250 publications, papers, presentations and outreach lectures. With Professor Jamieson, we have formed a stellar team of international and national experts with a significant experience on different dimensions of destination planning and development in Asia.
Since the past 26 years, some 24,000 professionals from 77 countries around the world have benefited from training courses offered by AIT. Our clients work in all kinds of organizations national government agencies and overseas development agencies, multilateral agencies, development institutions, private companies, consultancies and NGOs.
